Town and parish councillors and officers from BATPC member councils are invited to attend the BATPC AGM 2026, which this year will feature involvement from representatives from Universal Destinations and Experiences. They will be speaking about the development of Universal United Kingdom Resort here in Bedfordshire and answering questions directly from you as local council representatives.
The event is taking place at the Rufus Centre, Flitwick, from 7pm on Wednesday 14th October, and is free to attend and open to all members and officers of BATPC member councils. In addition to the talk and Q&A with Universal Destinations and Experiences, it will also include the formal business of the BATPC Annual General Meeting, plus the opportunity to meet and talk with representatives from the For Men To Talk community initiative, and event exhibitors Parish Online and Online Playgrounds.
A highlight of the evening will be a presentation from Gidon Freeman and Rosie Kavanagh of Universal Destinations and Experiences, providing an update on the proposed development and discussing both the ongoing development process and the future operation of this major emerging attraction for Bedfordshire. Gidon and Rosie will also take questions from those attending, offering a valuable opportunity for councils to speak directly to Universal about what the development means for their communities, now and in the future.
We look forward to welcoming councillors, clerks and council officers for what promises to be an informative and engaging evening.
Registration will be open later this month. Councils are invited to send two (electorate below 1500) or three (electorate 1500 or greater) voting representatives to the AGM, with additional councillors/officers invited to attend as non-voting representatives. Attendance for all councillors and officers from member councils is free of charge.
