Vacancy for Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer
Salary Scale SCP 28 to SCP 32 pro rata Pro rata 30 hours per week including evening meetings.

The Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer is responsible to the Parish Council/Staffing Committee and receives a precept of approximately £160,000 per year.
The Parish Clerk will be required to work from the council office in Harlington Bedfordshire (LU5 6LE) and have their own transport. Some evening and out of hours work is required – the Council meets on the second Tuesday of every month, along with 6 other meetings (always on a Tuesday evening).
The successful candidate will be computer literate (including Word, Excel etc) and confident in using email and the internet.
Knowledge of the workings of local government is a distinct advantage but not essential as full training will be provided. It would be helpful if there was prior knowledge of the law, procedures and financial workings of a local council.
It is highly desirable that applicants have relevant qualifications such as the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) or is willing to undertake further training as necessary to achieve the CiLCA award in the near future and will be required to undertake the Introduction to Local Council Administration (ILCA) course.
Training will be offered as appropriate and remuneration will be based on scale SCP 28 to SCP 32 pro rata, according to SLCC/NALC guidelines and dependent on experience along with membership of the LGPS pension scheme.
