BATPC is pleased to open bookings for new Chairmanship training sessions, taking place remotely via Teams. Details are as follows:
Chairmanship 1
Wednesday 18th June, 7:30 – 9:30pm
Chairmanship 1 is designed for new Chairs and Vice Chairs and covers the basics of the role and the responsibilities involved in chairing a meeting – this includes the role of the Chair, preparing for a meeting, the agenda, and knowing and applying the rules.
Chairmanship 2
Wednesday 2nd July, 7:30 – 9:30pm
Chairmanship 2 is designed for Chairs and Vice-Chairs with some experience and covers chairing styles, managing the meeting, handling conflict, and stimulating discussion.
Each session is a stand-alone course covering the areas mentioned above, and attendance is open to all councillors on BATPC member councils. Councillors can be booked to attend either or both sessions, in accordance with their experience and training needs.
Places are available at a cost of £45 per place. Please email Tracy Moorhouse (admin@batpc.co.uk) to make a booking request.
There is a limited capacity for each session to enable questioning and discussion; places are filled in the order that booking requests are received.
We also run this course in person, for those who prefer and are able to attend in-person sessions. Details of in-person sessions taking place in the autumn will follow in due course.
